Jock Phillips, General Editor, Te Ara: The Encyclopedia of New Zealand.
For Te Ara, we have supplied many audio clips to enhance the written and visual content. The audio supplied ranges from historic Winston McCarthy rugby commentary, to haka, to Polynesian festivals, to poets and writers such as Hone Tuwhare, musicians like Gareth Farr and significant moments in New Zealand's history such as Michael Savage’s victory speech from 1935. These clips demonstrate the diversity of our collections, and the diversity of New Zealanders, their experiences, and stories of life.

Help us preserve radio history.

We are always looking to add to our archive.
